Tuition Classes

 

Recently we have been directly involved in helping with a small tuition group which comprises of anything from 5 to 20 pupils at any one time.  The ages range from about 6 to 12 years old, with abilities being just as vast.  Miranda has prepared the materials for these classes which usually run for two hours and take the format of:

1.   Have a story which may be illustrated with a PowerPoint which sets the theme for the lesson. 

2.   All children participate.

3.   Break the learners into two or three groups - depending upon the facilitators available.

4.   Each group is given a worksheet which continues and practices the theme presented earlier. 

5.   There are at least two different levels of worksheet so that less able learners are able to take part and more able learners can

      still  be challenged.

6.   Sometimes a craft is added to the activities.
